Also, be sceptical of apps that seem to have only 5-star testimonials from accounts that may not appear authentic, or which don't offer much in the way of commentary. Unscrupulous app programmers pay for reviews and ratings.
Check the star rating
When looked at in conjunction, the reviews and star rating supply two powerful signals to rate an app. "Normally the terrible apps will have a reduce rating and a few terrible reviews," Orozco said.
Also, note if the testimonials and star ratings are out of sync (dreadful reviews and 5 stars is a weird combo, as an example).
Examine the permissions it asks
Always read the permissions part of a program's webpage in the Play or App store, also beware of programs requesting much more permission than they need to work.
"It's suspicious if weather apps ask SMS consent," Stefanko said. Be especially cautious with programs that ask for permission to operate in the background, to establish other programs to control the computer, telephone, and messaging functions.

Criminals attempt to sneak malicious programs into an app store to fool individuals into downloading it instead of the real thing.
If you're trying to find a popular app but the one that you discovered has a couple of reviews and the wrong logo, don't download it. "When the app icon or program name imitates a few popular and downloaded program, this could be questionable," says Stefanko.

It disappears from your home screen

Look out for programs that do so, or that seem to vanish from the phone after being downloaded.

Can the app do what it's supposed to? If the app is apparently something other what was advertised or does not possess the fundamental functionality it guaranteed, remove it.
It drains the battery or data
A program could be programmed to show ads even if you're not using it, or to covertly mine for the cryptocurrency.
One hint that an app is doing things behind your back is the fact that it drains your battery or uses up a great deal of information.
Android users can assess how much battery that an app is using by going to Settings, then searching for" Battery,", and selecting" Battery use."
